Continuing Professional Education

The Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Alberta now offers a range of continuing professional education (CPE) offerings for working clinicians – from one hour webinars and full-day workshops to more in-depth distance-based graduate level certificate programs.

Certificate Programs
The faculty offers three certificate programs:

Each certificate program focuses on areas of specific interest, is founded on the strongest evidence-based research and is taught by leaders in each respective area.

Diagnostic Imaging Course for Physical Therapists
This course provides participants with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to effectively utilize diagnostic imaging in the management of selected conditions seen by physical therapists.

Webinars
These one-hour clinically relevant, highly focused sessions are delivered by faculty and/or expert clinicians in each respective area and are offered in a flexible distance-based format accessible by computer or smartphone.

Workshops
The faculty offers several interdisciplinary or discipline specific informative sessions annually. The sessions are presented by our faculty and/or experts in the community.  To date the faculty has partnered with Alberta Health Services, MediChair, TiLite and Three Rivers, the Spinal Cord Injury Treatment Centre Society, Restorative Therapies, University of Calgary, McCaig Institute for Bone and Joint Health, Alberta Osteoarthritis team, Alberta Innovates, and iRSM to deliver several past and upcoming events.
